Moving, renaming and deleting images

With Unicity CMS you can easily move, rename and delete images without risking creating broken links.

Moving an image

To move an image, find it within the image browser and click the Move Image button:

Select the folder that you wish to move the image into from the panel on the left. When you've selected the folder, click Move image:

If the image is in use anywhere on your website, Unicity CMS will automatically update the path to the image anywhere it is used.

Renaming an image

To rename an image, find it within the image browser and click the Rename Image button:

You can edit the image filename in the New filename box, then click the Rename image button.

If you try to use characters that aren't allowed in file names, Unicity CMS will automatically remove disallowed characters.

If the image is in use anywhere on your website, Unicity CMS will automatically update the filename anywhere it is used.

Deleting an image

To delete a single image, find it within the image browser and click the Delete Image button:

You'll be asked to confirm before the file is actually deleted.

If the file is in use somewhere on your website, Unicity CMS won't allow the file to be deleted to avoid creating dead links. You'll need to remove it from the page first.

Deleting multiple images

You can also delete multiple images from a folder at one time. When you hover over an image, a tick box will appear in the top right hand corner. Tick the box associated with any image you want to delete, then click the trash can button:
